That's right, before you know it; you'll be packed up and on your way to campus, moving into the residence halls! Plans are well underway for this important day, and we're eager to welcome you to the many exciting things happening on campus in August!

We understand that the Opening Day process is a very big step for many of our students. With that in mind, we want to help make sure your first day here at NIU goes as smoothly as possible.
Come rain or shine, more than 1,000 student and staff volunteers will be on-hand in and around the residence halls to help make your Opening Day a comfortable transition. You will recognize them by their red shirts displaying Team NIU and NI Guides designs.
The Annie Glidden toll plaza off Interstate 88 is now open. Please visit www.illinoistollway.com for new locations and toll information.
On August 21st, tune to WLBK (AM 1360) for traffic updates and the latest Opening Day information.
All new freshmen and transfers are encouraged to move in on August 21st to take advantage of the Welcome Days programming scheduled throughout the weekend beginning Thursday evening. This includes: Huskie Bash which takes place on Thursday, August 21st.
